Per her request, a private family burial will be held at a later date for 85-year-old Virgie M. (Earnest) Miller of Wayland. Her body has been cremated. Virgie died Friday, October 30, 2009 at the University of Iowa Health Care Center from complications of heart surgery.

Virgie was born January 12, 1924 in Milford, NE, the daughter of Chris and Lucinda (Hershberger) Earnest. She was united in marriage to Robert Lee Miller on July 29, 1944 in Wellman, IA.

Survivors include four children and spouses, Stephen (Gloria) Miller of Wayland, IA, Patricia (Bruce) Brown of Washington, IA, Randy (Debbie) Miller of Yellville, AK, Roxie (Tom) VanDerMeersche of Tempe, AZ, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Elvera Brenneman of Lubbock, TX and Hazel (Dick) Conklin of Wickenberg, AZ.

Preceding Virgie in death were her parents, husband Robert Lee in 1995, one son Reggie Miller in 1999 and one brother, Norman Earnest.
