The Washington City Council met Tuesday. On the agenda was discussion to provide a notice of hearing and letting on proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, estimate of cost, and taking bids for the 2023 sealcoat project. Council member Bethany Glinsman had a question on the project. “Just to confirm, we have to prioritize the streets that we’re including when we didn’t have enough money to do last year, right?” The council approved the resolution. Bids for this project will be read at the May 16th City Council meeting. Sealcoat, or pavement sealing, applies a protective coating to asphalt-based pavements to provide a layer of protection from the elements: water, oils, and U.V. damage. This is a continuation of the project that began last year. The City will be prioritizing streets based on needs and budget.
