The Washington County Hospital Foundation has been awarded a grant worth approximately $753,000 from the USDA.

The funds will be used to implement the Epic Electronic Health Record system (EHR). Epic Systems is an American healthcare software company based out of Verona, Wisconsin.  Epic will provide Washington County hospitals with a single platform EHR that will replace their existing medical records and improve their ability to communicate vital patient care information internally and with other healthcare systems. The project is expected to take a year to complete, with the project set to begin in November of this year.
