The Washington Demons continued their excellent cross country season with another team victory for the boys and a fourth-place finish for the girls Saturday at the Lynx Invitational at North Linn.

Along with the Washington boys beating Solon by 15 points, every runner ran a career-best time, including senior Micah Rees, who once again broke the school record with a winning time of 15 minutes 28 seconds.

Demon junior Tyler Alderton was ninth in 16:39, while sophomore Andrew Rees crossed the finish line six seconds later to round out the top 10 and senior Lane Schrock finished 14th.

Sophomore Iris Dahl had the best time for the Washington girls, finishing third in 19 minutes 25 seconds. Junior Quincy Griffis was also 17th for the Demons, who will next race Thursday in Fort Madison at this year’s Southeast Conference Championships.
