Washington County Hospital and Clinics recently received recognition as one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the U.S.

WCHC also received a Performance Leadership Award as a top 20 critical access hospital in “patient perspective.” This annual recognition program is compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX. The index assesses performance of hospitals across pillars of performance including quality care, market share, patient perspective, cost, and charges. WCHC is one of about 1,350 critical access hospitals in the nation, which comprise about 25% of hospitals in the U.S., and are limited to 25 acute care beds.
