The ISU Extension has issued a warning for those planning an open burn on their property. The light snowfall in the winter, combined with warm temperatures and dry winds, means burns could get out of control. The extension gave some tips on controlling open burns when the weather is favorable.

We are well into what should be the Ice Fishing season, but with wildly fluctuating temperatures, many lakes and ponds in the area are unsafe to fish. Chad Dolan, Fisheries Biologist at Lake Darling State Park, gave us some tips on how to stay safe when you’re out on the ice.
