A new website is available that offers old yearbooks from the Washington High School.  Alumnus John Tweeton who now lives in Placerville, California graduated from Washington in 1968 and built a website showcasing the pages of each yearbook of every graduating class from the school.

Tweeton says the first class to graduate in the current building was in 1920.  He says finding many of the old yearbooks was not too much of a challenge, however he adds scanning each page from each book took over ten months to complete.

Tweeton says he built the website himself as a way to offer the books to other graduates as well as doing it for the challenge.  He adds the website also has information and pictures from The Washington Academy with the information dating back to 1880.

Tweeton says he will offer the 2011 yearbook when the class of 2012 graduates in the spring so the current Journalism Department has had a chance to sell the book for one year.  He notes this is the first website that has all of the past yearbooks online.
