The city of Wellman is announcing they will be shutting off water beginning at 1:00 this afternoon.  This will be to repair a water main break which occurred on 8th Avenue near 7th Street. City Clerk Donna Wade says when the water is turned off it will affect a majority of the customers in the city.  She adds it’s uncertain how long the repairs will take.

Wade says when service is restored a boil order will be in effect until further notice.  KCII will continue to monitor the situation and bring you information as it becomes official.
