West Chester residents, young and old, will have the opportunity to once again celebrate their community this summer.  This is the fifth year of the festival, which is Friday, June 3rd and Saturday, June 4th.  Organizer Melissa Patterson says the weekend not only benefits the people of West Chester, but also the town’s businesses and local organizations.

Some events include a Friday night bean bag tournament and dancing, along with karaoke, and Saturday will feature games geared toward kids, and weather permitting, the National Guard will also have a climbing wall and other obstacle related activities.  The main event, Patterson says, is the parade, which is on Saturday morning at 10.

There is no charge for any of the day’s events, except for a small cover charge for the dancing and karaoke.  Proceeds from the weekend will go toward to United Methodist Church in West Chester and also to the West Chester Community Action Team, who funds different projects around the town.
