press play to hear from WPD Chief Greg Goodman

Severe weather can pose not only a threat to people, but also to infrastructure such as roads, sidewalks and homes. If and when it does, local law enforcement steps in to ensure public safety. Washington Police Chief Greg Goodman says one of the biggest things the do during severe weather is blocking off roads that may be impassible due to downed tree limbs, power lines or flooding. Goodman says it’s crucial for people to pay close attention to weather reports during severe situations, and heed warnings and other instructions.
