Description: The Washington Public Library is inviting the public to its first summer reading club special event at 12:15pm Thursday, June 11th in Washington Central Park. Mr. S and the Sandbox band play songs from their Parents Choice award winning album. Afterwards, kids will be invited to a hands on instrument experience. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch. The events is free.

Description: The group Steel Wheels, based out of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, will perform at 7:30pm Thursday, June 11th in Iowa Mennonite School Celebration Hall. Description: Brighton Whoopee Days continues Saturday, June 20th with the Whoopee Walk at the community center at 7am. The Lion\’s breakfast will run from 7 to 9 at the community center. Parade begins at 10am. Mud run registration begins at 1pm at the ball fields. Live entertainment begins at 6:30 at the city park stage. The Street Dance from 8:30 to midnight at Lagos Acres. The Lake Darling Saddle Club Fun Show at the horse arena and an illusion show at the city park stage start at 7. Jake McVey will perform from 9 to midnight in city park.
