Ainsworth Nativity’s

Title: Ainsworth Nativity\’s
Description: The Ainsworth Opera House in Ainsworth will be hosting one of the world\’s largest displays of the nativity open for the public Friday and Saturday December 3rd and 4th and 10th and 11th from 10am to 8pm. and Sunday December 5th and 12th from 1 pm to 5pm. Over 2,000 different nativity scenes will be shown from over 100 counties. Each nativity is identified with country, year, and special features. Special tours for groups outside regular hours can be arranged by calling Michael Zahs at 319-653-6520. Duplicate nativity scenes are offered for sale, with all proceeds helping maintain the Opera House. A $5 minimum donation is requested to view the display.

Description: Mission Market on Saturday, December 4th from 9:00-11:30am at the Kalona United Methodist Church at 302 4th Street in Kalona. Donations honoring loved ones is an alternative way of giving that is usually well recieved. The projects to be featured include: the Parkview Home Chaplaincy Program, Hospice of Washington County, Washington County Enrichment Foundation, and many more.

Description: Jubilance Children\’s Choir will be performing a Christmas concert on Sunday, December 12 at 3pm at Kalona Mennonite Church. Jubilance is a 35 voice community children\’s choir directed by Rhonda Miller and accompanied by Chelsy Bontrager.

Description: Do not forget to mark your calendars for the 20th Annual Washington Christmas Candlelight Tour of homes, Saturday December 4 and Sunday December 5 from 4:30 to 8pm. Tickets are available in advance from the Chamber, Dodici Shop, Jaz It Up and Wolf Floral. Tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Homes on the tour this year include: Pam and Tim Coffey, Dana Conklin, Vicki and Phil Ealy, Rachel Nicola and Dave Stoufer. Employees will be donating toys and raising money to buy gifts for needy families this Christmas with their annual bake sale and blue jean Fridays. Description: It\’s that time of year again. The Just Cause Group will be selling Garbage Bags and new this year, Christmas Gift Wrap. They will be selling thru next week. They donate monies raised to the Fair Board for fair ground improvements and for using the fair grounds for the fire works, to the city for fireworks and this year we are going to help HACAP restock their food bank.
