Description: Hospice of Washington County is hosting the 11th Annual 5K Memorial Walk/Run on Saturday, September 18th, from 8:00am to noon at Sunset Park in Washington. Registration begins at 8:00am. The Walk/Run begins at 9:00am. They are honoring Hospice of Washington Counties past and present patients by asking family member to submit a favorite photo of their loved one, their name, special dates, and a personal message to be displayed along the Walk/Run path. Description: The Athletic Boosters will be sponsoring the Sports Drink Scrimmage Thursday, August 19th beginning at 6:30. Admission to this event is a sports drink. Fall athletes will be announced with a 60-90 minute football scrimmage to follow. At this event families will be able to receive more information about becoming an Athletic Booster. The Football parents will be grilling and providing concessions and the cheerleaders will be auctioned off at the end of this event.

Description: The Southeast Iowa Triathlon Sprint is in Fairfield on September 25. Registration is open to anyone 14 years or older capable of safely completing a triathlon of equal distance in the allotted time. If the registrant is under 18 years of age, parental permission is required. Individual and team applications are being accepted. An awards ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at the Convention Center. Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers with additional awards being given to the top three finishers in each age group.
