Southeast Iowa Triathlon

Title: Southeast Iowa Triathlon
Description: The Southeast Iowa Triathlon Sprint is in Fairfield on September 25. Registration is open to anyone 14 years or older capable of safely completing a triathlon of equal distance in the allotted time. If the registrant is under 18 years of age, parental permission is required. Individual and team applications are being accepted. An awards ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at the Convention Center. Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers with additional awards being given to the top three finishers in each age group. Master Gardener Training

Title: Master Gardener Training
Description: Classes for Master Gardener Training will begin on September 6 and will continue through the first week of November at the Washington County Extension Office. The class is open to residents of Washington and Keokuk Counties. The training sessions last for three hours and are held twice per week. The class is limited to the first 20 participants. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and are due on Monday, August 30. Description: The Old Settlers Association of River Junction will hold their annual Old Settlers Picnic in Walker Park at River Junction on Sunday, September 12. The Polkadots will play at 11:00 a.m. and the potluck lunch is at 12:30. Guests are asked to bring a covered dish and table service.

Quality clothing will be offered AT NO COST. The goal of the project is to offer all community members the opportunity to receive \’gently used\’ fall and winter clothing at no charge!
