Title: Paws & More Animal Shelter 2010 Dog Walk
Description: The PAWS & More Animal Shelter hopes you’ll join them for their 2010 Dog Walk at the Sunset Park in the dog park area. The Walk will be on Sunday October 10th, from 1-3pm with registration at 12:30. Cost is a $10 entry fee for the first dog, and $5 for the second dog. Put your paws to the pavement and join the approximately 1 mile walk in the park area. Micro chipping will be available at a reduced rate. And all money raised goes to raise funds for the shelter. Please make sure your dog is up to date on rabies.

Description: The Youth Plus After Prom Breakfast will be Sunday Oct. 10th from 8:30am to noon at the Lagos Acres in Keota. On the menu will be pancakes, eggs, muffins and sausage. Cost is a free will donation and all proceeds help make the “After Prom Party” possible.

New Washington County Historical Series

Title: New Washington County Historical Series
Description: A New Historical Tour Series will kick off October 23. The first event in the new Kathy Fisher Tour Series of the Washington County Historical Society will feature the Wayne County “Prairie Trails” Museum in Corydon and several other historic sites. Iowa Historian Mike Zahs will narrate points of interest during the day-long motor coach trip, including a stop at the famous Dutchman’s Store in Cantril. The public is welcome. Cost of $70 each for members of the Historical Society and $75 for non-members includes all admissions and the noon meal. Tour bus leaves the Washington Hy-Vee parking lot at 7:30 am on October 23 and returns at 6:30 pm. To make reservations, call Shirley Pfeifer at 319-653-5283 no later than October 10.

Description: The Ainsworth Opera House at 284 Railroad St. Ainsworth, IA will be holding their fall breakfast buffet on Saturday October 2, 2010. They will be open from 7 am to 9 am. The usual items are being made. New items for this buffet include maple rice pudding, pumpkin roll, and chocolate crescents. They will also have fresh fruit, pecan rolls and much more. Cost is $7 a person with children 10 and under free with adult. Funds raised go to support the opera house.
