Christmas Celebration

Holiday Grieving Program

Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona will present a holiday support group on December 3rd at 4pm. No reservations are needed and everyone is welcome. Anyone who has lost someone or will be away from a loved one over the holidays is encouraged to attend.

Tour of Homes

St. Joseph’s Church, Wellman is sponsoring a Christmas Tour of Homes on Sunday, December 11th, 4:00 to 7:30 pm. Photos of homes, addresses and a page of the special features of each home, can be viewed at Tickets can be purchased at each home and cost 6 dollars. Kids are free.

Christmas Program

The Washington Mennonite Church will present a Christmas program of skits and music December 1st, 2nd,and 3rd at 7pm. There will be homemade desserts at intermission. Tickets are $20.

Rachel’s Challenge

Hamakua Place will host Rachel’s Challenge, a program about the story of the first person killed at the Columbine High School shooting. . The story is presented all across the nation by Rachel’s parents. The even is December 6th from 6:30-7:30 pm at Hamakua Place.

Grilled Chicken Dinner

Pathway Christian School will have a Grilled Chicken Dinner on Saturday December 3rdfrom 5 to 8 pm. There will be chicken, mashed potatoes, salads, and cake. This is a free will event.

Holiday Trade Show

Fairfield will have a Holiday Trade Show on Saturday December 10th from 10 to 4pm at the MUM Campus Fieldhouse. There will be over 60 vendors selling a variety of gifts for a variety of budgets. This is the largest Holiday Trade Show Fairfield has ever hosted.

Preventative Health Screening

The Kalona Recreation Center will host a preventative health screening on Wednesday February 8th . You can get checked out for heart and lung problems as well as a variety of other medical problems.

Pancake and Sausage Supper

The Columbus Chapter of FFA will host its 3rd annual pancake and sausage supper Friday December 9th from 5-7pm at the Clumbus High School Student Center. Welcome Home/ Freedom Salute

The 134th Medical Co Iowa National Guard is having a Welcome Home/Freedom Salute for the Soldiers of the 134th that just recently returned from Afghanistan. This event will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday at the Washington Community Center.

Brighton Business Showcase

Fireman’s Pancake Dinner

Craft and Bake Sale

There will be a craft and Bake sale Friday December 9th (tomorrow/today) from 9-6pm. There will be antiques from three vendors, homemade soaps, Christmas decorations, baked goods, and more. It will be at 218 W. Main St. in Wayland.
