Latino Night

Description: A tour of Washington\’s natural beauty will be offered at 1:30 and 3pm Sunday, June 7th as part of the Summer Classic. Contact the Washington Chamber to reserve a spot. The bus will leave from the south side of the square. Latino Night will run from 4 to 9pm in downtown Washington. A parade is being held at 2pm. Click here for the full Summer Classic schedule.

Ridiculous Day

Title: Ridiculous Day
Description: Ridiculous Day is being held in Central Park Saturday, June 6th as part of Washington\’s Summer Classic. The Optimist Club Bike Auction begins at 9am. Bike decorating for the parade begins at noon. An open mic begins at noon, as does the ducks in the fountain event. Description: There will be a picnic in Central Park from noon to 2pm, creative activities in Central Park from noon to 4pm, and a free swim at the Washington Aquatic Center from 1 to 5pm Friday, June 5th as part of Family Heritage Day during Washington\’s Summer Classic. Kalona Day

Description: Kalona Days is being held Saturday, June 20th in downtown Kalona. Fun run registration begins at 7am, with the 5K beginning at 8 and 1 mile run beginning at 7:40. The parade begins at 10 am, live music beings at noon. Mike Zahs is going to be at the Kalona Library from 11 to 1. Kids activities start at 11. Food will be available from 10 to 5.

Description: Parkview Manor in Wellman is hosting a kids carnival from 2 to 5pm Tuesday, May 26th in the parking lot. There will be pony rides, kids games, cotton candy and popcorn. The scratch cupcakery van will be on site. The public is welcome to attend.

5K/FunWalk

Description: The 2nd Annual Swinging Bridge Festival Run/Walk will be held at 8am Saturday, June 20th in Columbus Junction. The 5K and 1.5 mile walk will begin and end in Chautauqua Park. Title: BBQ Cook-off
Description: A barbeque cook-off is being held Saturday, August 22nd at St Peter and Paul Church in Harper. Two to four person teams are invited to take part. Cooking begins at 1 and judging begins at 5. The public is invited to attend the ribs, brisket and pork loin meal at 6pm.
