Christmas Concert

The Washington Choral Society will perform their Christmas concert “Joy” on Saturday, December 5 at 7:30pm at the United Presbyterian Church. They will be performing with the guest choir “Sound of Washington”. Tickets are available at the door, $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Thanksgiving Service

Christmas Song Fest

The  First Assembly of God Churchis having a community Wide Christmas song fest Sunday, December 6th at 6pm.  Many churches will celebrate the birth of Jesus with fellowship and worship though singing.  Everyone is welcome to come to the First Assembly of God Church in Washington, Sunday, December 6th at 6pm for a community Wide Christmas song fest.

The Crooked Creek Christian Camp Cookie Workshop

The  Crooked Creek Christian Camp is having a cookie workshop Saturday,  December 5 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., you can gather in the kitchen to bake and learn new decorating techniques. Participants should bring 2 dozen cookies to participate in the cookie swap. Pre-registration is required. To register or for more information call 319.653.3611.

Operation Home Front

Operation Home Front, a family support organization to deployed troops, has 700 Christmas stockings they would like to pack and ship to soldiers for the holidays. The stockings will be stuffed at the Trinity Methodist Church in Riverside on Saturday, December 5th, starting at 1:00 pm.  You can drop off donations at the church on Saturday, December 5, or bring them earlier to 347 Blackberry Avenue in Riverside.  Contact Michelle for more information at 319-648-5015.

Southeast Iowa Singles

The Southeast Iowa Singles group from the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield have a pizza eat out Saturday, November 21st at Torino Pizza and Steak House in Fairfield at 6 pm.  The dinner will be followed with a public dance from 8-12pm at the Eagles in Fairfield.

Coping with the Holidays Seminar

A Coping with the Holidays Seminar is Saturday, November 21st at 2pm at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt Pleasant.  United Methodist Minister Nick Longworth will speak at this free seminar.

Washington United Methodist Church Soup Supper

The Washington United Methodist Church is holding a soup supper Friday, November 27th from 4:30 – 6:30 pm.  Chili, chicken noodle, black bean and beef & barley soups will be served and a free will offering will be taken.

Church Revival

The Washington Church of God will host Evangelist Robert Newton Sunday, November 8 at 10:30 am and 6:30 pm, and on Monday, November 9  at 7 pm. These services will be at time of singing, worship, and spiritual renewal. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Soup Supper

Catholic Daughters will hold their annual harvest soup supper Saturday, November 14 in the St. James Fellowship Room at 5. They will serve chili, vegetable, beef, cheesy rice and ham, and tortellini. All are welcome. Tickets are $7.00.

Marriage Seminar

Election Day Supper

West Chester Methodist Church will hold an Election Day supper from 5-7 at the church. The menu includes, chicken, ham, pies, and drinks. Cost is $9 for adults, kids 6-12 are $4, 5 and under are free. Proceeds will benefit church missions.
