St. James Fall Festival

The St. James Fall Festival is Sunday, September 12th at the KC Hall in Washington. Dinner is from 11am to 1pm. The event is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 6 through 12. Pick up and take out is available. The Auction begins at noon. Youth games are from 11:30 to 2:30pm.

Immanuel Lutheran Church French Toast Breakfast

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington is holding their final French Toast Breakfast Saturday morning at the church from 7 to 10:30. A garage sale and bake sale will take place as well. All proceeds will benefit Child Voice International and are being supplemented by Thrivent Financial.

Ainsworth Lions Club

Swedesburg Blood Drive

The Calvarymen to Perform at Local Churches

The southern gospel music from The Calvarymen out of Missouri is performing at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland on Sunday August 8th at 10:30am and at 6:30pm at the Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church in Wellman. Everyone is welcome. The event is a free will offering.

Asbury United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School

Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman invites all children ages 3 through starting 6th grade to become space cadets at our summer space voyage Vacation Bible School: GALACTIC BLAST: A COSMIC ADVENTURE PRAISING GOD on July 26th through July 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each evening. ‘Car-Mandments Bible School’

Don Colton

The Washington United Methodist Church, 206 West 2nd Street, will host Don Colton, Saxophonist, Guitarist and Singer on Sunday, May 16th at the 9:00 and 10:30 am Worship Services.  Don Colton is from Southeast Iowa. He grew up in a musical family and gave his first public performance at age 7, singing for a small country church, accompanied by his mother and sister on the piano.
