Wellman House Fire

Wellman and Kalona Fire Departments responded to a call about a structure fire early this afternoon in Wellman. The Washington Communications Center says the house of Robert A. and Suzan Hop at 1506 1st Ave. was reported fully engulfed. The Center says the structure suffered considerable damage but no one was injured. Personnel from Wellman Volunteer Ambulance, Kalona First Responders, and the Washington County Sheriffs Office also responded. The cause of the fire is not available at this time.
