Kirkwood to Offer free Classes to Learn English

Kirkwood Washington Center has an upcoming free course to teach basics of the English language for non-native speakers.  Kirkwood-Washington Director Tera Pickens writes that the class will be taught by a local resident: Isabella Santoro.

The class is meant for adults from all language backgrounds and abilities.  It begins in about a month at the start of Kirkwood’s Spring Semester.  There is a level-one English literacy class, and a level two English class.  They will be meeting Mondays and Wednesday evenings. Registration is required.

Appointments Made to Housing Task Force

Initial appointments have been made to the proposed Housing Improvement Task Force. During Wednesday’s Washington City Council meeting, Mayor Sandra Johnson shared the list of 8 people she would like on the task force. It was mentioned at the meeting that suggestions are still being taken from council members. Additional appointments will be shared at their next meeting in early January.
