WCSD Van Accident

Washington Community School District Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgenson and Washington High School Principal Erik Buchholz tell KCII news that a Washington Community School District van transporting cheerleaders to a wrestling event in Fairfield was involved in a rollover accident at around 9:30 Saturday morning near Pleasant Plain due to thick glaze of ice on are roadways. Both have told KCII news that there are no serious injuries as a result of the crash, one girl was taken to the hospital as a precaution and x-rays have shown no injuries. National Guard Education Funding on to Branstad

As previously reported, the National guard announced that they would have to cut the financial aid given to its members from 90% to 50%. The Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously agreed that they would re-appropriate $1.3 million in funding to help fund financial aid to the guardsmen who need it.

New Cell Phone Rule at MP Middle School

Cell phones have changed society drastically, and especially with kids, cell phones are becoming an increasingly bigger part of day to day life. The Pew Research Center did a study that found 75% of kids 12-17 have a cell phone. Mid-Prairie Middle School has found an interesting way of dealing with cell phones in schools.

Lockridge Woman Sentenced on Meth Charges
