The Riverside City Council is meeting tonight. At their meeting they will discuss a route change for the TrekFest parade. They will also be talking about a grant application to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for equipment purchases at the fire department.

Kalona Council to Discuss WCRF Grants

The Kalona City Council will meet on Monday and discuss several Washington County Riverboat Foundation Grants. The grants will be fore a summer reading program, campground improvements, restrooms at the park, outfield fencing for the baseball diamonds, and a fire truck for the fire department.

Some Employers Asking for Facebook Passwords in Interviews

The US Department of Justice is looking in to the legality of asking for a Facebook password in a job interview. The practice has been growing in popularity among employers, who use the password to look at Facebook accounts that are set as private.

Community Bank Makes Large Donation to Louisa Fairgrounds

The Louisa County Fairground will hopefully have a new addition soon. The Fair Board is gathering capital to build a Youth Center at the fairgrounds. Community Bank donated $25,000 to the cause.

When Does Your Plate Need to be Replaced?

The IDOT is planning license plate replacements for all Iowa plates. A replacement has not been mandated since 1997 and plates are reaching the end of their usable life. In the past plates have been replaced all at once, but this time, the state is implementing a rolling system of replacements.
