Hear about how winter, even though most people don’t like it, has benefits for the spring, including keeping bugs in check.

School Bus Drivers May Need Background Checks

Lawmakers in both the House and Senate are hoping to pass a bill into law that requires schools to background check school bus drivers. The bill is in response to a Des Moines Register investigation that showed some drivers in large school districts have been charged with serious crimes in the past, including drunk driving.

State Funding for Community Colleges at a Low

News coverage of tuition debates for Iowa’s public universities is everywhere, but another form of post-secondary education isn’t talked about as much. Community colleges in the state have seen rising enrollment numbers for the past years, but state funding hasn’t kept up. Community colleges are increasingly relying on tuition for funding now.

Keota School Board Talking WCRF Grants
