Demons Attempt to End Conference Losing Streak Versus Panthers

Hard to believe it was just one year ago the Washington Demon boys’ soccer team (3-7 overall; 0-6 Southeast) had clinched a share of the Southeast Conference title.

Washington Tries to Stop Another Scoreless Streak

Washington’s Kayla Schindler winds up  for a penalty kick on Monday against Fort Madison. The Demons have been kept off the scoreboard during the last three games with Schindler scoring the team’s last goal on April 30.

Offensive struggles aren’t a new thing for the Washington Demon girls’ soccer team (2-9 overall;1-5 Southeast), but a recent cold stretch to start the month of May has magnified the situation.

Sluggish first half performances have plagued the Washington Demon boys’ soccer team (3-7 overall; 0-6 Southeast) this spring, and the story was no different Monday afternoon against the Fort Madison Bloodhounds (7-4 overall; 5-1 Southeast).

Highland Soccer Goes for Season Sweep of Columbus

Highland’s Jessie Wollrab advances the ball in the April 30th clash with the Columbus Wildcats. Wollrab scored two goals to help Highland to a 6-3 victory, their first over Columbus in boys’ soccer.

Nearly two weeks removed from the program’s first victory over the Columbus Wildcats (5-5 overall; 2-1 SEISC North), the Highland Huskies boys’ soccer team (6-4 overall; 4-1 SEISC North) is going for the season sweep of their Southeast Iowa Super Conference foe.
