Cavanagh Collects 100th Win

Mid-Prairie head football coach Pete Cavanagh reached a major milestone Friday with his team’s 33-6 win over Davis County on the road. The victory gave Cavanagh 100 during his tenure as the head Golden Hawk.

Roth Cracks Top 15 in Most Valuable Coach Voting

Head Washington track and field Steve Roth has been in the coaching business for upwards of 40 years now.  Throughout that time, he has coached football, cross country and track, has taken numerous kids to state, and impacted numerous lives in the process.  His efforts were recently recognized by US Cellular, and he was put on the list of the 50 coaches to be chosen from for the Most Valuable Coach Award.  The first round of voting has passed, and Roth has reached the top 15, making him a finalist for the award.

Three Demons Earn All-SEC at Conference XC Meet

The Washington cross country teams went down to Keokuk this past Thursday to compete in the Southeast Conference meet, with the girls taking second and the boys taking fourth.  The top ten finishers in each race are considered all-conference, and three Demon runners received that distinction.
