Several girls basketball teams kickoff season tonight

The Highland girls basketball team opens their season hosting rival Lone Tree. Meanwhile IMS travels to Winfield to take on Winfield-Mount Union. It’s the opener for IMS, Winfield-Mount Union started their season with a win over West Liberty Friday. Sigourney opens their season tonight hosting English Valleys. Keota plays Tri-County in Keota. This is the second game for Keota, they lost to BGM Friday.

Demon boys at Jamboree tonight

Golden Hawk girls kick off season tonight

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team kicks off their season on the road tonight taking on West Liberty. Golden Hawk Head Coach Marc Pennington says they are very young with only three returning letter winners Renita Miller, Erin Cayton, and Brittnee Stumpf .

Over the weekend the high school football season wrapped up with championship games being played in the UNI-Dome. This season saw two repeat champions and one rematch from last year’s final game.
