Description: A Fundraiser Drive to benefit Gary Carlson will be held Saturday, August 20th at 2 PM at the Fairfield Wal-mart parking lot. A $10 cover will be taken to help with Gary\’s medical bills. All vehicles are welcome, the ride will end at Town and Country in Keosauqua. There will be food and a raffle drawing.

Description: Mid-Prairie High School is hosting the Gator Bowl to meet the Mid-Prairie players night on Friday, August 19th starting at 4:30 PM at the high school gym. The athletic boosters will host a $5 pork burger dinner from 4:30-7, served at the concession stand. At 5, there will be a volleyball scrimmage, at 6 cheerleader and cross-country introductions. At 6:15 the JV football will scrimmage, at 6:45 there will be a football player auction. The evening will conclude with the varsity football scrimmage starting at 7:15. Admission to the scrimmages is a sports drink.

Louisa County Hunter Education

Title: Louisa County Hunter Education
Location: Columbus Junction
Description: A Louisa County Hunter Education course will be offered on Thursday, August 18th from 6-9 PM at the American Legion Hall Post 100 in Columbus Junction, and also on Saturday, August 20th from 8 AM – 4:30 PM at Langwood Education Center. Students must attend both classes to become certified. The course includes classroom lessons as well as archery and shooting demonstrations. Snacks and drinks will be provided, but participants should bring a sack lunch on Saturday. Participants must be at least 11 years old to attend.

IMS Test Drive

Description: IMS invites everyone to be a part of an easy $6,000 donation program by taking a short, no sales pitch test drive without a sales person on Saturday, August 27th between 8 AM and 2 PM. Anyone 18 years or older with a drivers license can pick from a variety of Ford vehicles, and for each drive, IMS gets $20 from Deery Ford.
