Description: The Washington Municipal Band will have a holiday concert on Sunday December 3 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. They will be playing seasonal favorites, with cookies and wassail to follow. Admission is free for this event.

Packwood Movie Night

Title: Packwood Movie Night
Description: The City of Packwood is hosting a movie night Saturday December 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Packwood Community Center. They will be showing “A Christmas Story”, and there will be a freewill offering with all proceeds going to the Packwood Little League. Popcorn and pop will be provided, and chairs and tables will be provided but feel free to bring your own food and drink and blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, and your favorite pajamas.

Description: The Washington High School Band presents a Holiday Concert for Children at the Washington Area Performing Arts & Events Center on Thursday December 14 at 7 p.m. Come hear the WHS Band and special guests The Stewart Holiday Singers perform some holiday favorities with skits and special appearances from classic classic characters. Admission is $5 and school passes are accepted.

Description: The Richland United Methodist Church Community Outreach Ministry is hosting Cowboy Church on Sunday December 10. The church will have an ecumenical live nativity from 4:30-6 p.m. in the east parking lot and will be available to “drive through”. Crafts for kids will begin at 5 in the bunkhouse in the fellowship hall. The cowboys will have their conversation beginning at 6 p.m.This event is open to everyone.

There will be a holiday market from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Parish Center, a tour of homes from 2:30-7 p.m. and a soup supper and festival of trees from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Lagos Acres. Description: The Winfield singing group Sela presents “T’was the Night Before Christmas” at the Winfield Presbyterian Church on Sunday December 3 at 2:30 p.m. Come sit by the fire and hear this all-time favorite story told in words and music in a new way. A mission offering will be taken to benefit the “Youth for Christ” organization and a time of refreshment will follow in the fellowship hall.

Mitten Tree

Description: The Washington Public Library is sponsoring the mitten tree. Come donate new mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, and socks to the mitten tree at the library by Friday December 15. They will also take unexpired, non-perishables for the food pantry. All items will be given to local children and adults in need this holiday season.

Description: Volunteers are needed at the annual packing of the Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County holiday meal boxes on Thursday December 14. Volunteers should arrive at the Nazarene Center by 5:30 p.m. wearing comfortable shoes and a jacket. Description: The annual ACORN holiday potluck at the Henry County Conservation Department will be December 15 at 10 a.m. in the classroom of the Oakland Mills Nature Center. The film “An Inconvenient Truth” will be shown first followed by lunch in the classroom. This is a free program and open to anyone over 18 years old.
