Description: IMS is hosting a Mennonite College Night on Monday (9/12) from 4-8:30 pm. Admissions representatives from Bethel College and Hesston College in Kansas, Bluffton University in Ohio, Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia, and Goshen College in Indiana will be at IMS to meet with prospective students and parents. 20 minute appointments are available with as many schools as desired, and can be made by contacting guidance counselor Dwight Gingerich. Priority will be given to seniors.

Port Louisa Bus Tours

Description: The Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge is having a Bus Tour on Saturday, November 12th from 10 am – 1 pm at the Port Louisa Refuge Headquarters. Migration Paddle

Description: Naturally Louisa is hosting a Migration Paddle on Saturday, November 5th from 9-noon at the Odessa Water Trail. The paddle begins at Flaming Prairie and goes to Toolesboro. Musc-Lo-Des Tri-County Pedal

Location: Louisa County
Description: Louisa County, Muscatine County, and Des Moines County Conservation are all partnering with the Louisa Trails Council to host the 3rd annual Tri-County Pedal, or Musc-Lo-Des. The bike ride is on Saturday, September 17th, starting at 9 am at the Yarmouth Filling Station Bar & Grill in Des Moines County. The 47 mile ride will have a stop for lunch in Columbus Junction, and finish at the Ardon Creek Vineyard and Winery north of Letts in Muscatine County. Cost is $20, plus $5 for lunch, and the fee includes a t-shirt, snacks, and water for refilling. Registration is available online at LouisaCountyConservation.org. For more info, call 319-523-8381.

Description: Louisa County Conservation is hosting a Monarch Migration event on Thursday, September 15th from 6-7 pm at the Chinkapin Bluffs Recreation Area southeast of Columbus Junction. Description: Colonial Estates in Columbus Junction invite people to join them in celebration of National Assisted Living Week from Monday, September 12th through Friday, September 16th. There will ice cream sundaes with Hospice of Compassus at 2:30 pm Monday, followed with a 7 pm concert of Just Us Girls. Wednesday features a pie contest at 2 pm, where you can make your favorite pie and bring it in, the tenants and guests will judge the pies, and the winner will receive a prize. Description: The Mid-Prairie Fine Arts Boosters and Wellman Rotary are hosting a biscuits and gravy supper on Friday, September 9th from 4:30-7:30 pm at the high school cafeteria. Cost is $6.50 in advance or $7 at the door. Kids age 3-10 are $4, and kids 2 and under are free. Purchase tickets in advance from any Wellman Rotarian or high school music student. All proceeds benefit fine arts camp scholarships for Mid-Prairie fine arts students.
