Halloween Hike

Title: Halloween Hike
Description: Louisa County Conservation is hosting a Halloween Hike on Saturday October 6 at the Virginia Grove Recreation Area. Guided hikes begin at 6:30 p.m. and leave every 10 minutes, preregistration is required. This year’s hike theme is “Get the Scoop on Scat!”. Description: The Kalona Fall Festival will be hosting its 9th annual talent show on Saturday September 29 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Age divisions are 12 and under, 13-19, and 20 and older. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division will receive Kalona Cash prizes. Description: Henry County Conservation is hosting Flowers of the Prairie on Sunday September 16 at 2 p.m. Retired professor Dr. Danuta Hutchins will be giving a classroom presentation at the Oakland Mills Nature Center and then participants will carpool to Prairie Ridge, to draw flowers. Participants are asked to bring sketching paper, no.2 pencils, and colored pencils if you have them. This is a free program open to all ages.

Description: Registration is open for the Clover Cookers youth cooking club. The club is open to any 4-12th grader in Washington County who has an interest in cooking, food safety and healthy living. Description: The Mid-Prairie Student Boosters are hosting the 2018 Golden Hawk Color Run on Saturday October 6 at the high school. Registration is at 9 a.m. with the run starting at 10:30 a.m. The fundraiser will support field trips, assemblies, and many other school enrichment activities.
