Description: Easter Seals of Iowa is accepting donations of durable medical equipment at the United Presbyterian Home, 1203 E. Washington St. in Washington Thursday, November 5th from 4-6PM. Items in highest demand include manual wheelchairs, lift chairs, and shower benches. Other items accepted include grab bars, toilet safety rails, commodes and hoyer lifts. All donations are tax deductible.

Description: The Kalona United Methodist Church is hosting their Fall Harvest Dinner, Bazaar and Auction Sunday, November 1st beginning at 10:30AM. Meal includes baked chicken, pork loin, potatoes, vegetables, cole slaw, dessert and drink. Cost for the meal is $11 for adults, kids 6-10 are $5 and under five are free. Other activities include flu shots, an auction, a quilt auction, and bazaar.

Keota Receives REAP Grant

The development of the KeWash Trailhead Project in Keota has received a big boost. A $75,000 REAP grant has been awarded to the city of Keota to further work on the project.

The project is a combined effort by Keota Unlimited, the Keota Community Visioning Committee and the city of Keota who are working together to design the project. The grant money will be used to purchase land needed for the project.

The trailhead will have a parking area and picnic area with restrooms. It’s expected, when finished, the trailhead will provide safer and easier access for users of the trail.

Keota Unlimited is continuing to raise funds for the project, they will be holding 5K Glow Run/Walk on October 24th. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. At Lago Acres Country Club. The race begins at 6:30 p.m. With a soup supper to follow.
