Agronomy Day

Title: Agronomy Day
Description: The Iowa State Agronomy Club would like to extend an invitation to the 4-H and FFA members across the state to attend Agronomy Day: The Future of Agriculture on April 7 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. This even is located at Agronomy Hall at the Iowa State Campus in Ames. The event will focus on the three pillars of sustainability: Economic, Social, and Environment. In addition there will be sessions about technology in agriculture and a food packaging event to support the local community. Book Party

Description: Teens who participated in the March Madness found in the young adult section of the Washington Public Library are invited to a pizza party Friday March 30 at 4 p.m. Food, relaxed games, and the final reveal of which book they’ve deemed the champion of books. A special prize will go to whoever has read the most books on the board.

Keota Fish Fry

Description: The Keota Eagle Advocates are having a Good Friday Fish Fry on March 30 from 4:30-8 p.m. at Lagos Acres. Dinner includes a whole catfish, baked potato, green beans, roll, dessert, lemonade and tea. Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased at Lyle Insurance, Libertyville Savings Bank, and Just My Style, or $12 at the door. Proceeds will go to Keota school improvements.

Description: The second annual Raptor Advocacy, Rehabilitation and Education, or RARE, Expo will be on Saturday March 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Eastside Recycling Center in Iowa City. Admission is free. The RARE Group hosts the Expo to provide an educational experience for all ages, focusing on raptors such as eagles, owls, hawks and other birds of prey. There will be two live raptor programs at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
