Washington County could be partnering with some neighboring counties in an effort to be eligible for state money through a housing trust fund. Ed Raber is with the Washington Economic Development Group. He also serves as a board member on the East Central Iowa Council of Governments. He says to be eligible for the funds, Washington, Jones, Benton and Iowa Counties would need to form a local housing authority. Raber is proposing the four rural counties in ECICOG form such an entity, and apply for funding this fall.
