New renewable fuel standards being handed down by the federal government is coming as good news to a local bio-diesel plant. Alan Yoder is General Manager of Washington based Iowa Renewable Energy. He says the standard specifies a certain volume of bio-diesel to be used by the end of this year. Yoder is hopeful this, combined with ramped up demand during the planting and construction seasons will mean a good year for bio-fuels.
