Area residents are being asked to help the Louisa County Conservation Board document local bird populations this weekend. The 13th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count calls on citizens to make a checklist of bird sightings over the weekend from their home, local parks or wildlife refuge. Anyone can participate, from novice bird watchers to experts. Bird checklists can be reported at bird-count-dot-org, or can be turned in to the Louisa County Conservation Board. Last year, participants turned in more than 93 thousand checklists, making it the largest snapshot of bird population ever recorded.
