The Demons executed their defensive game plan last night in their District Final game against number one ranked Mount Pleasant, but the Panthers’ outside shooting showed up in full force. In their two regular season meetings the games were close and the Panthers post player Henry Kreiger-Coble scored 18 and 20 against the Demons. So the focus heading into last night’s game was to deny the pass inside to Coble which the Demons did well holding him scoreless in the first half but Scott Hahn hit three first half three pointers and had 16 points in the first half, as the Panthers were up 31-20 at the half. Scott Hahn ended up with 24, Coble was able to score in the second half with the Demons forced out of zone and he ended up with 11 points. The Panthers won 59-39. For the Demons Alex Vogel had 17 including a couple of threes and Isaac Gardner had 12. Smeins says they knew they had a tough challenge heading in and he was proud of the teams 16-7 record this season. The Panthers will face Williamsburg on Monday, Williamsburg beat Clear Creek Amana 59-56.
