The indoor high school track season will kick off today. The indoor season is mainly used as a gear up and gauging chance for teams before the outdoor season and consists of a hand full of meets. Today’s will be put on by the Washington Demons and will be at the University of Iowa at the Recreation Center next to the bubble on campus. Today’s meet is a girls meet and the boys will go on Thursday. Demon Boys Head Coach Steve Roth organizes the meet and says this is the second year for the girls and will be the third for boys. Roth says the meets have turned into a nice little money maker for the track program. Money is made from the entry fees the teams pay. Roth says it is then used to purchase equipment such as starting blocks. The Demons girls will be taking fourteen girls to compete.
