The Washington Demon baseball team got a two run shot that put them in position to open the season with a road win over Pekin. The Demons started early in the top of the first with a Josh Moore rbi double to score Anthony Ossman. Moore would score and Brad Weatherman would come home on a T.J. Rausch base hit to put the Demons up 3-0. The Panthers would answer in the bottom of the second with a couple of hits and a two run home run over right by Brady Lamb to tie it up at three a piece. With the game tied at 4-4 in the top of the fifth and a man on T.J. Rausch was at the plate and hit a two run shot to left, that made the game 6-4. Pekin would get a run in the 6th but the Demons get the win 6-5. Demon Head Coach Nathan Miller praised his team’s ability to produce runs when Pekin would tie it up. He also liked their pitching last night with Kaleb Rich pitching two innings, McElyea three innings and Weatherman the last two. The Demons now will go on the road to play Mediapolis tomorrow night.
