Mother Nature is giving all of us in southeast Iowa a double-blow for the weather. The National Weather Service is reporting Washington received 14 inches of snow yesterday. The record snowfall for yesterday is 15 inches set back in 1915. The forecast is calling for cold temperatures today with a high in the teens and drop to near zero tonight with wind chill factors falling well below zero. The National Weather Service has also issued a Wind Chill Advisory for our area until 11:00 this morning. They say wind chill advisories are issued when the wind chill temperature is expected to fall between the -20 and -29 degree range and is expected to remain at that temperature for at least three hours.
