Demon Wrestling Dominates at Dike-New Hartford

Dike, IA – The Washington Demon wrestling team had a big weekend at the Dike-New Hartford Tournament, winning all six matches en-route to the championship. Brent Van Weeldon said it was a hard fought team win.

“Our lower weights wrestled well again for the most part. We got a lot of pins throughout the day; a lot of bonus points and that’s what we need to do to be successful. A lot of the matches we lost we didn’t get pinned, kept them to decisions and made our opponents earn their victories.”

Fletcher Green at 106 pounds went unbeaten at 4-0 on the day, picking up three falls and a major decision. Tanner Knupp at 138 finished 5-0 with three falls and at 145, Parker Turner finished the day 4-0 with two pins. The team will ride this momentum into the break.
