The unseasonably warm weather in our area means we could be setting new record high for today. WeatherEye Meteorologist Mandy Thalhuber says these temperatures are typical of May instead of March.
She says the cause for these warmer temperatures is the jet stream has moved to the northwest as well as a ridge of high pressure from the Pacific Coast bringing in warmer winds.
Thalhuber adds the temperatures will retreat some as we get close to the weekend but will still be above normal.
She notes with the current weather patterns we have experienced, they could continue into the spring. The record high for today in Washington is 73 set back in 1995.
