Children who are involved with the Washington County Clover Kids have an opportunity to learn about a sheep project through a special mentoring program.  Washington County 4-H/Youth Coordinator Amy Green says those interested in the sheep mentoring program will be paired with 4-H children who have experience in the project areas.

She says the Clover Kids meet with their mentor two to three times prior to the Washington County Fair to learn about sheep and how to show them.  Green adds the children may also learn about the feeding, caring, showmanship and grooming of the sheep.

She says the experience is complete when the mentor and Clover Kid show one of their lambs during the Fair.  Any interested Clover Kid and 4-H mentor need to sign up by Friday, June 1st by contacting the Washington County Extension.
