Two lawsuits from last fall have been dropped by Residents for a Better Richmond. The group will not pursue a lawsuit that contends property was improperly condemned and another that contests the easement refusal fee.

The lawsuits originate from a 2001 DNR fine against the unincorporated towns of Richmond and Rubio after raw sewage was found in creeks near both communities.

According to Washington County Attorney Larry Brock the lawsuits were most likely dropped due to the fact the lagoon project would continue regardless of the lawsuits outcome.
