Washington County has seen an increase in the amount collected from driver’s licenses and plate fees.  Washington County Treasurer Jeff Garrett shared during yesterday’s Board of Supervisors meeting that over $59,000 was brought in because of those fees.  This is ten percent more than what was seen in the same time frame last year.

He says the money reported is what the County keeps after sending 96% of what is collected to the state. The Supervisors also heard updates from the Planning and Zoning Administrator and Recorder.

Also discussed was a lease of 108 acres of county-owned farm ground.  Bids are being accepted for renting this land and are due by 9:00 on Tuesday, October 30th.

County Auditor Dan Widmer notes if there is more than one bidder for the land after the bids have been opened during that day’s Supervisors meeting, the other bidders will have a chance in person to increase their bid for the land.  The one year agreement begins in March of next year.
