Two public hearings are happening during tonight’s Washington City Council meeting. The first hearing is discussing a proposed hazard mitigation plan and the second is dealing with the issuance of revenue bonds. City Administrator Brent Hinson says the United Presbyterian Home approached the city about the refinancing of bonds to obtain a lower interest rate.
He notes the council approving this request has no risk to the taxpayers of Washington. There will also be discussion of an engineering services agreement for the Industrial Park survey and concept. The Washington City Council meeting begins at 6:00 tonight in the old public library.
