There are two candidates competing for the District 1 Washington County Supervisor seat in tomorrow’s election. Jack Seward is running as a republican and Kay Ciha as a democrat. The two have the same stance on the County’s zoning ordinance and would work to rescind it.
Ciha says the ordinance is overbearing and is something the County doesn’t need. According to Seward the ordinance is an example of government overreach, but says it’s apart of a bigger problem being caused by poor representation by some members of the current Board.
He says that an example is how poorly the residents of Richmond were treated when addressing the problems there. Ciha says as a supervisor she would work with both towns and wouldn’t go overboard with a lagoon the area doesn’t need.
