The Iowa High school senior all-star cross country meet was ran this past weekend, and Cody Miller of IMS represented his school and southeast Iowa.
Miller’s southeast Iowa team won the meet with 33 points, Miller himself did not place in the scoring, but did finish in 45th out of 91 runners with a time of 17:15.
IMS head cross country coach Marty Gingerich said Miller was at his peak performance, and he wants to compete as often as possible at that level.
“It’s a great opportunity to compete one more time, you put a lot of work into training and you can’t hold that condition very long, so you want to compete as often as you can while you’re there,” Gingerich said. “It was kind of cool to be able to do that and compete with the top seniors all across the state.”
Miller was the only area boy to run.
