The new Washington County Board of Supervisors will make a decision on salary increase recommendations in January. At this week’s meeting of the Compensation Board it was recommended the County Attorney and the Sheriff receive a 5% raise, the Treasurer, Recorder and Auditor get a 4% raise, and a 2% raise for the supervisors.
It was decided that, since the raises wouldn’t go into effect until July 1st, the newly elected board of supervisors should make the decision to approve or lower the salary increases.
County Auditor Dan Widmer says a decision will need to be made in January so departments can budget properly.
