Arrests have been made in connection to a string of car thefts in Jefferson, Wapello, and Davis counties. 18 year olds William McCarroll and Cody Surber, both of Ottumwa, are being held in the Davis County Jail. According to Davis County Sherriff, Dave Davis, they’ve charged McCarroll with Felony Eluding and 1st degree theft, and Surber with conspiracy to commit 2nd degree theft. He notes the Bloomfield Police Department has also filed charges. Charges are pending in Wapello County.
Assistant Jefferson County Attorney, Patrick McAven, says there were a handful of victims in Jefferson County, but they’re still deciding if they should press charges.
