The Riverside City Council decided to seek a full financial audit at their meeting this week. This comes after a special investigation conducted by the state auditor found problems with over $60,000 worth of transactions made between 2006 and 2012. Mayor Bill Poch says with staff changes in the past few years, they want to make sure current employees have “clean hands.” Information is being sent to the state auditor to get a cost estimate, following the vote in favor of the audit on Monday. Poch says if the price is too high, they’ll find someone in the private sector to do it.
