A Washington High School senior was selected for the six state North Central American Choral Directors Association. Ransom Adams was picked for the select group after judges heard an MP3 file that contained three songs and scales. High school music teacher Mike Jewell explains that the judges were looking for range and pitch among other musical skills. He adds, thousands auditioned for the group and approximately 140 were selected.

Adams, a baritone, adds that he is both excited and nervous for the event. The Choral Directors group will perform on March 29th at the Des Moines Civic Center.
