The Highland wrestling team went to Clear Creek- Amana and wrestled four duals last night.
The Huskies went 1-3 at the meet, beating Maquoketa the first time they faced them, but not the second. In the only win of the night Highland got pins from Drew West at 106 and Tyler Frank at 132. Highland won 30-25.
The Huskies then faced CCA, and Highland got some good matches in the 42-34 loss. Highland got another pin from West at 106 over Luke Wingert, Bryce West got a major decision at 113, Frank pinned his man at 132 in just 0:14, Travis Cole got a pin at 138 and Zach Kleopfer pinned his man at 152. Outside of the forfeits in the dual, Highland won the match in the weights that were contested.
Next up for the Huskies was Mt. Vernon, and Highland lost 64-18. West got his third pin of the night at 106, while Bryce West got a pin at 113 and Cole pinned his man at 138. The Huskies forfeited all of the upper weights from 182-285.
In the final match, it was a rematch of Maquoketa and Highland, and Maquoketa got the redemption with a 31-30 win. Drew West got the grand slam fourth pin of the night at 106 and Frank picked up another pin at 132, but in the long run the forfeits through the match led to the Husky loss.
Highland travels to Hudson for a tournament tomorrow.
