A missing child report led to an arrest in Winfield this week. On Tuesday night, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a missing juvenile or runaway case involving a 14-year-old male. A tip led officers to a home across the street from Winfield-Mt Union High School.  At the home, police found 18-year-old Charles William Carpenter smoking marijuana with a group of teenage juveniles.

According to Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee, Carpenter is being held on $25,000 bond at the county jail for distributing marijuana to persons under the age of 18.

In September, Carpenter was arrested on 15 counts of motor vehicle burglary. He’s currently on probation.
